Oh where to begin! Perhaps the first thing to say is that a company that uses FREE Conference Call when they are attempting to sell you something doesn’t have enough respect for their message to believe it is worth paying to distribute. That would account for the extremely poor quality of the audio for the more than 119 people that attended the 2:00 PM EDT call on 03/31/2011. I would also be of the opinion that everything that was said during the call, with limited exceptions, was merely an early April Fool’s Day joke. The audio portion conveniently became garbled and indistinguishable during the point in time that Brian Alan Marchant-Calsyn (Introducing himself as Brian Calsyn) was apparently speaking about his Federal incarceration for felony possession of LSD with intent to distribute (also known as being a drug dealer). I can’t blame Brian Marchant Calsyn for painting a favorable depiction of himself, he is after all attempting to sell you on an investment, whether time or money or both. Fortunately, research has already been conducted which will give you the non-revisionist history of the schemes he has initiated. Google, BING, or YAHOO any of his aliases for more informations.
Here are some points to consider regarding statements made during the conference call (statements shown in RED):
- “Internet Recruiting Group had a 1,000 members between 1999 and 2004” Ask for proof!
- Comparing the salesperson failure rate of the Zeal Sales scam and that of P&G, Merck, and Johnson & Johnson? It’s an insult to those companies that a pee-wee league scammer like this would even breathe their names, let alone comparing their salesperson failure rate with the abominable track record of the people his “training” has produced. Remember also that the sales personnel of those three companies are paid salaries plus bonus or additional compensation. They are not requesting free labor from people to develop their database.
- “2004-2009 generating 700+ memberships to Health Career Agents.” TRUE and they paid $30-75,000 for that membership with a 96% FAILURE rate.
- “No Babies, No Criers, No Whiners” Yet Brian Marchant-Calsyn is the biggest crier, whiner, and baby around. Faced with the facts, he refers to those shining the light on this human cockroach and the snake oil he peddles as being bullies.
- “Only people that want to make serious dough“. So, tell me again Brian Marchant-Calsyn, why is it that you only have milk money as you said in your blog? Those that can… do. Those that can’t… prey upon those that want to. I know you’re not in it for the “commssion” you say people will have deducted from their placements. His true goal is to get would-be recruiters to pony up the NON-REFUNDABLE $2500 for the vapor dream of owning a membership in the future. Pay his commission upfront is what he said and “lock in” the price of $29,500 for an ownership in the next year. OMG! Do people actually believe this BS? Apparently so, since he said (he wouldn’t lie would he?) a training class is starting next week. See my post about “Trading up by trading down” as a sales tactic.
- “$60-90,000 during your first year“. I know close to a thousand people that would strongly disagree.
- “$200,000, $300,000, $400,000 per year can be yours like numerous individuals [he] has tutored, among them a Minister, a Coca-Cola Delivery Driver, Teachers“. I have the membership roster from Health Career Agents and there are entire PAGES in that directory with NOT ONE business still in operation. Success is anecdotal, and Failure is the norm.
- “Can’t change the terms of the contract” As one of my legal advisors said after reviewing the contract “…in the days of indentured servitude, at least the indentured person could work at the trade for which they had been trained after it was over. In this case however, the salesperson who was foolish enough to sign would have to wait 2 years after termination by which time their skillset would no longer be of value. ” An additional legal reviewer of the document pointed out that “…in the Definitions Section which most laypeople do not realise can even form part of the binding provisions of a contract, [Calsyn] has left himself this little “out clause”: “Initial Training” means Consulting Company will instruct and train Salesperson in Healthcare Recruiting practices, and if Salesperson fails to meet expectations Consulting Company may refuse, for any reason, to continue assisting Salesperson and/or refer Salesperson to a Business Owner.” Of course, no mention is made of what these subjective “expectations” might be. Nor is the time period for exercise expressly limited to just the “training period.”
- “You’ll spend the first half of your day calling candidates and the second half calling clients“ In essence you’re going to be acquiring the candidates, acquiring the clients, and receiving 45% of the money. Is the expertise they purport to have worth 55 cents of every dollar you generate? My goodness, even the “house” in Las Vegas has better payouts than that!
- “6-8 weeks without an income” Even in the highly improbable likelihood that you’ll ever make a placement, here’s some reality to consider: your training is 2 weeks. If you found the candidate, found the client, scheduled a phone interview, scheduled an on-site interview, got the person credentialed, and they started the new job in your third week, you will still wait 60-90 days for payment (if you’re lucky) and then better not spend the check because if they quit during the “guarantee period” you’ll need to make a refund. Guarantee periods range from 90-180 days. So, even if you are the “Blind horse that finds the water stream” your first drink might not be for 6-8 months, not weeks. Lying to you about the realistic expectations of when you might receive money on a placement speaks volumes to the overall credibility of the person presenting it. There is also a complete absence of any provision stating when a salesperson will be paid a commission owed. Is this because they don’t expect to be paying any commissions? If they owe you a commission and don’t pay, you should understand that you will have to travel to somewhere within 25 miles of St. Louis, Missouri in order to meet with an arbitrator at your own expense and then attempt to collect any award. Visit the Missouri Casenet to view Brian Marchant-Calsyn and Health Career Agents track history of paying the more than $157,000 in judgments.
- “A business owner wants 15-20 sales people” This is because at any given point in time it will be a revolving door, going through the 100 commissioned sales people in order to find the one or two that might survive a year.
- “The Hybrid Plan“ This is the real bait Brian Marchant-Calsyn is hoping you’ll bite the hook on since it puts $2500 into the coffers to pay the rent on his luxurious offices. There’s no refund when you find out the training is crap, the money has been sent with the signed indentured servant paperwork that locks you up in this and out of any other recruiting for 2 years. Did you see the Zeal Sales World Headquarters?
- There’s a reason that the conference call line was muted throughout the presentation. This provides a one-way stream of information and only presents the singular viewpoint of the salesman.
As I’ve said before, is there anyone ignorant enough to buy into this BS after learning the truth?
